Harris

Harris: Originated with Marston Harris of Rockingham County, N.C. during the mid 1800’s. This tree originated only 15 miles from my farm. The tree from which I obtained scionwood was planted by a member of my church  and came from near the Harris tree’s origin. The fruit is a favorite of those who like tart apples. It also cooks well.  The fruit is medium to large, yellow with some red blushes. The flesh is white, juicy, and subacid.  Fruit ripens in August.
